Call for young people’s views as MIND US campaign launched
The Highland Youth Parliament (HYP) has called for young people in the region to share their views on mental health and local services as it launches of its latest campaign.
The MIND US campaign campaign aims to engage with young people, and give them a say in how access to mental health support can be improved.
The choice of mental health as the campaign’s focus came after young people overwhelmingly identified it as the key issue affecting their lives.
Over the next year, the campaign will work on a series of objectives to consult with young people and work with various agencies to develop a new Mental Health Strategy. Work will also be done to develop the Personal and Social Education curriculum in schools to meet the mental health needs of pupils.
At the outset of the campaign, HYP is asking young people to complete a short survey to help them understand and identify the needs of young people. The survey is available here.
This campaign is another excellent example of youth-led initiatives that give young people a voice and the opportunity to create meaningful change for young people across the Highlands.
